Karen Acerson

Karen Acerson has often been referred to as the “First Lady” of WordPerfect, as she has been closely involved with WordPerfect Corporation’s word processor since the product’s first release.  Karen worked as the customer support manager at WordPerfect Corp and her books WordPerfect: the Complete and WordPerfect: From 5.0 to 5.1 were best sellers.  Karen is an internationally recognized expert and has taught word processing and word processing skill-building techniques to thousands of people world wide.

Amy Arndt

Amy Arndt has over 20 years of experience in computer software training.  Her teaching experience includes: Microsoft Office Suite, Corel WordPerfect Office Suite, OpenOffice.org, Novell GroupWise Administration, and GroupWise Client classes.  In addition to product training, Amy has taught train-the-trainer courses for employees of organizations such as; Proctor and Gamble, University of Chicago, Hunter Douglas, Clark County, WordPerfect Corporation, and Novell Inc.

Dr. Chris Brown

Dr. Brown is one of the four core consultants for First Technology Transfer out of Carshalton, Surrey, UK.  He heads up FTT’s Linux training.  He holds a BA in theoretical physics and a Ph.D. in experimental particle physics, both from Cambridge University.

Dr. Brown obtained his core experience as a Research Fellow of Sheffield University.  He has 21 years experience teaching UNIX, and more recently Linux, to IT Professionals and has logged more than 6,000 hours of classroom teaching experience.  He as taught for Sheffield University and IBM UK Learning Services, in addition to his on-going work with FTT.  He has authored the book Unix Distributed Programming published by Prentice Hall, and is a regular contributor of tutorial content to the magazine Linux Format.  In addition to extensive experience with SUSE Linux, Dr. Brown has used Red Hat Linux and Fedora and holds his Red Hat Certified Engineer (RCHE) Certification.  He also received his Novell Certified Linux Professional (CLP) Certification. 

Bryan Croft

Bryan Croft, an expert in the Linux field, has successfully deployed Linux in many environments since the early 1990’s.  Bryan recognized the limitless possibilities of Linux and open source contribution.  With the rising exposure and popularity of Linux, a large number of potential users and existing users have sought out Bryan’s in-depth, specialized training. 

Harold Driver

Harold’s expertise in software programs includes Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign), FinalCut Pro, Dreamweaver, Microsoft Office and Front Page 2002.  His career has included corporate training in a variety of computer skills and application; computer lab training; database projects; Web site design, development and management; television production; work as a graphic designer, trainer and consultant for television networks, including CBS, NBC, TBS, TV New Zealand, and ESPN, as well as money other local television stations throughout the United States and the world; and as a Professional Speaker with National Seminars for over six years. 

Tamar E. Granor, Ph.D.

Tamar has developed and enhanced numerous applications for businesses and other organizations, primarily using Visual FoxPro, including integrating it with Microsoft Office.  She currently focuses on working with other developers though consulting and subcontracting.  Tamar served as Editor of FoxPro Advisor magazine from 1994 to 2000.  She is currently the magazine’s technical Editor and co-author of the popular Advisor Answers column.  She is co-author of OOoSwitch: 501 Things You Wanted to Know about Switching to Open Office.org.  She is the Technical Editor of Visual FoxPro Certification Exams Study Guide.  Tamar is a Microsoft Certified Profession and a Microsoft Support Most Valuable Professional.  She speaks frequently at conference and user groups in North America and Europe.  She has been using OpenOffice.org for the bulk of those activities since late in 2002.  Tamar earned her doctorate in Computer and Information Science at the University of Pennsylvania, where her research focused on implementation of user interfaces.

Matt Harward

Matt Harward has been training and consulting on computer software and hardware for over 10 years.  He has been an official corporate presenter for Novell, HP, IBM, Compaq, and Lucent Technologies.  He is formally certified on several networking and business applications.  Matt has trained thousands of end user customers, channel partners, and corporate teams on dozens of products from Intuit, Microsoft, Corel, Novell, HP, Compaq, IBM, SCO, and others.  Matt currently develops course curriculum and provides product training seminars for Intuit, Microsoft, Novell, Hewlett Packard, and Makau.

William C. Holliker, Linux Expert

William Holliker is President of Open Systems Courseware that specializes in the development and delivery of leading-edge technical training and courseware for Unix, Linux, Programming and Networking technologies.  William has been a technical course developer and instructor for over 25 years.  He has written three certificate training programs and two certification programs.  In addition to his technical experience, William has delivered over 500 technical training courses throughout the world.

Dan Holme

With degrees from bout Yale and Thunderbird and 14 years of international public speaking experience, Dan’s energetic style and communications techniques engage students and lead to greater learning success.

David Humes

David is an Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) in Photoshop and an expert in Macromedia Dreamweaver, Flash, web design, print design, Adobe InDesign, and QuarkXPress.  Since 1988, he has been involved in desktop publishing and computer graphics.  His experience from presenting over 600 full-day seminars to thousands of attendees in 48 of the 50 states and throughout Canada has helped him breakdown complex concepts into easily understood language that anyone can understand.

Barbara Jackson

Barbara has over 20 years of management and consulting experience.  She is a Director of the Rhode Island Economic Development Commission.  Barbara has been a pioneer in the field of distance learning, working with several of MIT’s distance learning center’s many of-shoots and other web-based learning startups.  Barbara has helped large organizations, states, and international governments achieve sustainable growth and high performance.  A few of her clients have included Time Magazine, United Nations Development Program, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Harvard Graduate School of Design, and various organizations with GE Capital’s European Division.

Bruce James

Bruce James has worked in the computer industry since 1991.  He began his career working for Hewlett Packard on the HP LaserJet Printer team.  Later Bruce moved to IBM where he worked in Software Development and Multi-media design.  In 1996, Bruce left IBM to work as a software trainer and, since that time, has trained thousands of individuals within large and small organizations including Novell, Mercedes-Benz, the New York State Education Department, Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, and dozens of others.  Bruce is also the author of several user manuals as well as several articles published in technology journals.  Bruce has worked since 1999 as a corporate presenter for Novell, IBM HP, Compaq, Oracle, and Lucent Technologies in North and South America, Europe, and Asia. 

Rick James

Rick James has worked in the computer industry since 1985.  He began his career as a computer science major working for WordPerfect Corporation. His interest later turned from software development to business and marketing within the computer industry.  He presents complex concepts in ways that all employees in an organization or an individual student can understand.

Casey McNeal

Lee Miller

Lee Miller is a consultant, speaker, executive coach, and corporate trainer.  A graduate of Harvard Law School, he is the Managing director of NegotiationPlus.com where he advises Boards of Directors, corporations, and Senior Executives on negotiating.  He is an Adjunct Professor of Management as Seton Hall University, where he teaches MBA courses in Negotiation, managerial Decision Making, and Human Resources Management.  In 2003 he received the Stillman School’s Award for Teaching Excellence.  Lee is the co-author of A Woman’s Guide to Successful Negotiating (McGraw Hill) selected by Atlanta Woman magazine as one of the 50 best books for professional women and by Good Morning America as a featured book.  He also has written a monthly career column for Monster.com, where he was their expert on negotiating. 

Diane Poremsky

Diane is the author of Microsoft Press’s Outlook books and is recognized internationally as an Outlook expert.  She is an industry leading IT trainer and Microsoft Certified Instructor. 

Dennis P. Taylor

Dennis P. Taylor has spent over 14 years presenting PC software training to individuals in classrooms and seminars, including employees at Amoco, IBM, and many other companies.  He specializes in spreadsheet software and has co-authored several books on spreadsheets.  Dennis brings a combination of in-depth knowledge and training experience to his spreadsheet training courses. 

George J. Trujillo Jr.

George has specialized in Oracle technologies such as RAC, Data Guard, Streams, JDevelopers, Oracle Application Server, RMAN, Forms, and Reports for many years.  George has written advanced Oracle and Java certification test and is a major presenter at numerous International Oracle and Java User group conference.  In addition to his 20+ years of technical experience, George has delivered internationally over 250 technical training courses and seminars.  George is the president and CEO of Trubix Inc., a company specializing in delivering leading-edge technical training, consulting, and courseware on Oracle 10g, Linux, Internet strategies, Application Servers, XML, Java, .Net, and Web services. 

Joe Tucker

Joe Tucker, a consultant and trainer for Intelligent Concepts, Inc., has extensive experience in technologies such as DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and TCP/IP routing and configuration.  He has trained many clients on use of Technology and trains in a classroom and lecture environment on how to install and administer Windows NT/2000/2003.  His experience in the deployment of operating systems and applications as well as controlling and maintaining user environments and data is extensive.  Joe has taught at Microsoft Authorized Technical Education Centers throughout the United States.  Joe’s certifications include: CCT Certified Technical Trainer, Cisco Certified Network Associate – CCNA, Microsoft Certified Product Specialist Certification, Microsoft Certified Trainer, and Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer.

Larry C. Whipple

Larry C. Whipple is the CEO and main consultant for Information Systems Specialist and a contributing editor for DataBase Web Advisor Magazine.  Larry has worked in the IT field for over 12 years and has experience working with systems from mainframes to POS credit card terminals with special emphasis on PC and client/server platforms.  He has programmed in over 16 different languages and was asked to introduce Transaction Server as it was roller out by Microsoft.

Kevin Wolford

Kevin Wolford started his computer career in 1983.  He has been a technical writer, network administrator, and trainer.  Kevin spent many years with Novell and it a CNI and Mater CNE.  In 1998 Kevin founded Tech Training, giving him a chance to test his training concepts on live labs.  His is also an MVSE and MCT and is certified in SMS, SQL Server, TPC/IP, NT Workstations, NT Server, Exchange Server, Windows 9x, and 2000.  Kevin has authored Microsoft certification books for New Riders and Sybex.  He also owns a consulting company dedicated to teaching complex technical topics in a simple way.
